  1. The cinematography was great…. wasn't FULLY sold on the story/ characters in the movie…..

It ranks an 8 to be. 🤷‍♂️ I'm. Not argue visuals. THAT was the BIGGEST selling point to me in the movie.

  2. Cinematography was definitely on point but I just wish the story would have been more solid. I cringed hard when cat woman drank her milk…utterly cheesy. Aside from the story, the grittiness and darkness of the film was sooo good and the standout performance (for me) was by Paul Dano! That man never disappoints!

  3. Yah really acting like this new as if the Joker didn’t have this feeling and same eerie vibe. It just didn’t have damn near ALL NIGHT shots. It had more day shots than Batman for sure. But when they got you alone… in the dark…. The emotions were immobilizing

  4. The cinematography can help set the mood of the film. So, The Batman has a dark story so yes it makes sense to shoot the movie the way they did. I just want to understand, in your video you make it seem like every movie should be shot this way. If that was the case, then comedy movies might have a different feel and tone to them that may not make them funny. If you compare the two big superhero movies from 2012 to each other, you can see that they feel different from their cinematography. The Avengers (2012) has that "clean" commercial look to it which gives the film a light comedy tone, don't take it too seriously, let's just have a good time. In The Dark Knight Rises (2012) it has a dark grittier feel to it which lets the audience know that there will not be much to laugh about in this movie. I'm not saying The Batman is bad. It does look amazing, and it lets us know that this Gotham we are in is not a friendly place. I do want more of this in future movies but there is a time and place when to use these techniques to help tell the story.

  5. My only issue with the movie was the choice of music. It had a strong 90s vibe to it. It would have been better to put a score to it with no words, even keep the same song but get rid of the words.

  6. I thought the cinematography was amazing, but the storyline and everything else IMO wasn't their with it, for one it was way to long, and such a long build up for a decent fight scene, sucks also because it was near the end of the movie. By the way this is just my opinion, GREAT VIDEO BTW!

  7. Dude STOP LYING! You're only saying this so you can be the one to stand out. NOBODY thinks this movie looks good because it DOESN'T! It's a black n orange, overly dark, slow shuttered, blurry, super shallow depth of field mess. This is the ugliest batman of all. You're full of shit and you KNOW it.

  8. At the beginning of the movie I was trying to work out why I was so spellbound – I mean I know this story a hundred times backwards. I thought it was the pace, every shot drawn out and no urgency at all to explain. What a gorgeous movie. I bet actors are saying: I want to be in a movie like THAT

  9. It felt so nice walking out of a theater seeing a movie with no agenda behind it. Just a nice movie with creativity and effort put in. Yes, there was the one white privilege line but that was brief and more implied than it was direct.

  10. I am glad films are slowly going back to tried and tested viewing pleasure of neo-noir. I would not class some modern films, especially from the MCU even art which is a shame.

  11. Beware the explanations. You have esthetic things happening on the screen, and they are 'working' for some reason, they are esthetically pleasing, but is your theoretical explanation for it correct? I suspect that much as it is in the world of art, the conventional explanations do not get to the truth. Maybe they're on the right track, maybe not. In a way we've been down this road before. Star Wars: ANH and Alien were both credited with making space 'gritty', and Scott's approach to 3D space is also relevant here.

  12. Exactly why I love The Batman. The bright and crisp effect all movies have these days feels, just as you said, soulless. The story line can be original, meaningful, and unique, but because of that creepy bright/crisp effect every studio is doing it gives off a fake— or rather insincere feeling. A feeling like its creators didn't try very hard to capture the story's mood and heart. They feel uninspiring. It just gives a cash-grab vibe to it and kills the story. I really do hope things start to change. I'd like to go back to seeing movies in theater again without feeling like I've been cheated of $15 and I could have watched something better on a streaming service.

  13. it's also the only batman movie that will put you to sleep. I tried 5 times, not once i could stay awake to finish it.

opinions eh. some are right. some are wrong.
