Using a structured light scanner to capture all the details and to create a digital file which is needed in 3D printing.
When you get scanned, which takes about three minutes, the scanner
collects millions of pieces of data including your exact geometry and
texture. The scan is a 100% representation of what you look like.
Once the scan is complete the newly created DFile is processed here
then sent to one of our digital artists to make it ready for print.
We can print 12 6” models at the same time and rarely ever only print
one or two models at a time.
MY3D utilizes a Projet 660 full colour 3D printer. It is a powder based
printer which prints into white powder layer after layer creating your
3D print in a matter of hours. There are two video on the MY3D site
which simplify the whole scanning + printing process.
We can also create a digital file from photos. The detail on the file won’t be as detailed as from a scan but it will still look very much like the person. Wherever you are in the world if you send us photos of yourself we can send you a full colour 3D print that looks just like you.
If you have character drawings we can create a digital file and print your character in full colour 3D up to 15” in height.
